Position Type: Contract - 1099 Independent Contractor
Location: Fully remote (online/virtual/telehealth) only; no in-office services
Schedule: Flexible - Design your own hours to fit your lifestyle
Compensation: Generous percentage of collected fees, based on experience
About the Opportunity
As a remote therapist with us, you'll have the autonomy to manage your schedule, providing individual and/or couples therapy sessions via a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. This is an ideal opportunity for therapists who are looking to gain experience in a private practice setting and/or expand their self-employed work.

Responsibilities
-
Provide high-quality, evidence-based psychotherapy to a diverse client population within your scope of practice
-
Conduct initial assessments and collaborate with clients to set individualized therapeutic treatment plans
-
Utilize assessment methods to track symptoms, functional improvement, and goal progress measures to adjust the treatment plan

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in our secure electronic health records (EHR) online system in accordance with ethical and legal standards

Conduct risk assessments, facilitate safety planning and/or emergency services, and engage in consultation for high-risk cases as needed

Respond to all calls/voicemails, texts, and secure portal messages within 2 business days

Adhere to HIPAA, HITECH, and similar regulations and maintain strict client confidentiality

Collaborate with other treatment professionals, with appropriate release of information, as needed to best support clients in reaching their goals

Manage caseload and engage in self-promotion or marketing efforts as needed to maintain caseload or billing minimums. Although some referrals may be provided by the practice, contractors are ultimately responsible for acquiring and maintaining their client base to achieve billing minimums.
Requirements

Hold and maintain active and unrestricted independent licensure
-
Maintain malpractice liability insurance with minimum coverage of $1M/$3M, naming Stone Counseling & Consulting Services, LLC/Rebecca Stone, LMHC-QS as an additional insured

Maintain a consistent caseload that results in a minimum of 15 billed therapy sessions per month

Engage in professional behavior in accordance with legal requirements, ethical guidelines, and professional care at all times that you are representing Stone Counseling & Consulting Services, LLC

Maintain compliance responsibilities required of independent contractors
Qualifications
Required:
-
Advanced degree in psychology, mental health counseling, social work, or a related field (Master’s degree or above)
-
Active and unrestricted Florida licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Psychologist (LP) [graduate interns and registered interns cannot be considered for this position]

Proficiency in conducting telehealth sessions and comfort with technology

Strong diagnostic, assessment, and treatment planning skills
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively

Access to a HIPAA-compliant phone, a PC/laptop computer, reliable internet connection, and a private, quiet space for sessions
Desired:
-
Training and experience with conducting Emotional Support Animal assessments for clients who seek ESA letters (optional access to training can be provided upon request; fees may apply)

Certification or expertise in client populations or treatment protocols not currently offered in the practice, such as EMDR, ERP, hypnotherapy, teen counseling, or couples counseling

Important Notes About Independent Contractor Status

This is an independent contractor position, not a W-2 employee position. As an independent contractor, you are responsible for paying your own taxes, liability insurance, continuing education, licensure renewals, compliance with any town/city, county, state, or federal business requirements, etc. While referrals may be provided by the practice, consistent client acquisition is the contractor’s responsibility. Contractors may maintain outside employment, but must avoid conflicts of interest and cannot solicit clients from Stone Counseling & Consulting Services, LLC. The contractor agreement is at-will and may be terminated by either party with written notice as outlined in the contractor agreement.
