Happy Star Wars Day!
My boys and I celebrated by dressing up and riding our bikes around the neighborhood while blasting The Imperial March. We brought lots of smiles to our neighbors' faces and it was so much fun!
After riding for awhile, we came home and watched Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. I missed it when it was in theaters, so I am so glad I got to see it today. What a film! So much awesomeness to unpack, but the thing that stood out to me the most was a reference to Leia/Carrie Fisher.
Han Solo: Your mother’s gone, but what she stood for, what she fought for, that’s not gone.
Carrie Fisher was a mental health warrior, advocate, badass. I believe this line was a nod to her personal amazingness and not just Leia's character.
Another fantastic exchange right after that included:
Kylo Ren: I know what I have to do, but I don’t know if I have the strength to do it.
Han Solo: You do.
Kylo Ren: Dad…
Han Solo: I know.
So many of my conversations with clients mirror this. We have the answers and strength we need within us. Sometimes we just need someone to help us see that and give us the nudge we need. Reach out for help when you need it.
May the 4th be with you. May the force be with you.
Happy Star Wars Day to you!
